United Utilities has gone out to tender with an AMP7 framework contract for an inventory management partner worth an estimated £15.32 million in total.

The water company is looking for suppliers who can provide and design storage and transportation for all stock and spare parts, alongside performance data analytics, which will need to be designed to best meet the needs of the maintenance staff responsible for the reliability of operational assets.
Suppliers will also be expected to provide advice on service/system improvements.
The service will be used by the utility’s water, wastewater, bio-resources teams covering both infrastructure and non-infrastructure assets, contract partners and the maintenance service provider.
As part of the United Utilities Maintenance Excellence Programme, the contract covers an integrated inventory management solution consisting of a range of storage, transport, catalogue, and data management facilities.
Key requirements under the wide-ranging contract include:
- consultancy
- stock tracking
- data capture and analysis
- physical coding of stock
- integration of inventory management system
- central store and distribution centre facility
- water infrastructure storage and emergency response service
- long term storage
- local storage facilities
- distribution model
- transportation services
Initial contract term is 3 years with an option to extend annually by up to a further 5 years in total.
